We partnered with pioneers of the local gourmet food community in Temecula, California to create a one-stop shop for the area’s best ingredients sourced from local growers, breweries and wineries.
Combining the charm of a historic esthetic with the edginess of restaurant kitchen culture, the result was a retail experience that would make even a master chef proud.
Owners Matt and Tahne Green were dream clients; their passion for organic fare, coupled with their desire to create a welcoming experience for fellow food lovers, gave us plenty of fodder to build a new brand that reflected their values.
We incorporated warm earth tones, organic textures and hand crafted materials to capture their “farm to fork” philosophy, then brought the concept to life by coordinating the architecture, fabrication and installation for the environment.
Our engagement began with an in-depth discovery exercise which led to a striking, emblematic logo and supporting collateral including signage, business cards, shelf talkers and packaging. Our unique graphic design process calls for the simultaneous development of the brand visuals with the interior concept, which in this case allowed Cheflavor’s vintage setting and organic vibes to influence every visual touch point during the creation of this inviting destination for “kitchen artists.”
Brian and team captured the essence of our company and built out a gorgeous, functional space for us to build our business.

The Greens set up shop in a newly reopened historic development perfectly suited to their new brand esthetic. We took advantage of the rustic setting by restoring the original floor and built-ins, then amplified the charm with a custom shelving and storage system.
Cheflavor opened to rave reviews and continues to thrive in the community. Matt & Tahne are planning for future expansions and an ecommerce-based gift box program. The project was named a Retail Design Institute “Class of 2016” winner.
